Today I would like to discuss some ideas that are related to Blending and Formulations involving Essential Oils. Please keep in mind that these ideas are based on my experience and not really based on untested theories by people involved on the entrance point of the Dunning-Krugger Chart. I like to think I am across the scale and long past hitting the bottom of the curve. With that, let’s move on to some fun topics. One must also keep in mind that from a technical point of view people that work with essential oils in formulations and blending are Aromachologists. But generally they are called Aromatherapists. In these discussions we will use the general terminology to keep the discussion in terms of what most people are more familiar with.
The lifespan of a formulation; There are all kinds of formulas and/or recipes with the use of essential oils. Many times these formulations/recipes will have fixed oils in them, or variations of herbs and even at times who...
I would like to take a bit of time and make an overall review of the last 5 discussions that we have had on the Metal Trace Minerals. So here goes.
In Essay #1- We have it titled Introduction and Discussion about Metal Trace Minerals. We talked about a number of trace minerals that used to be considered, in any amount, period. Now as we move forward with better research and better educated people doing the research with an open mind, we find that the old ideas are not really that accurate. We need these many so called toxic trace minerals. But we need them in a minute amount and with corresponding ratios to other trace minerals. But here in this discussion we focus on a number of the metal types.
Basically the trust of this discussion is we learn about some of these as examples and see that each one has its own unique mechanism of action and that they interact with various proteins, metabolites and bio-molecules in an effort to make some action potential and allow that...
Today we are going to have some fun and cross over the isle and talk a little bit about some Lanthanides and how they tie in with metal types of minerals. Along with that we will actually focus on one in particular namely, Phosphorus and make mention of a few related ones. So here goes.
When looking at the roles of any one of these minerals, without regard to what type of mineral they are, I am amazed at how similar the needs of a human being and the needs of the soil are in order to produce a good healthy plant. In simple terms, biological entities and plants both get their nutrients from the earth in one form or the other. The earth provides all of these various nutrients in ratios that are similar to the needs of plants and of these biological entities. But both plants and animals, IE: humans, might have very similar needs, many times these balanced ratios are prevented from becoming balanced as a natural course of life/nature. The causes are many, so we need to be careful to not...
To begin this discussion we really need to talk about some technical stuff first. So here goes. One of the important aspects to this Obesity/Weight Loss/Diabetes thing is to get our head around the idea of look alike nutrients. Some of these will work somewhat well, but many others don’t work very well and really causes a lot of problems. For example in the Essay #3, we talked about Copper as part of an axis of minerals that have to be in balance. When you have a Copper deficiency, the metabolic system will start to look for anything that resembles Copper if it can’t get the actual Copper itself. When this happens, typically Mercury will show up. It makes sense because it tends to be everywhere, just hanging around waiting for a ride. To the metabolic system, Mercury has a look and feel of Copper. So, the door is opened to Mercury. But even though Mercury has a similar look and feel, much like a sibling in a family might have that resembling look. .We have...
Today we are going to look at the trace mineral aspect to weight loss. This essay will be looking at the direct roll of these types of trace minerals in Obesity and Weight loss. One must realize that Obesity and Weight Loss are not just about something simple, as simple as eating too much or being a couch potato. In reality those two areas are about the least concern about these two topics that can exist.
Of course the ideas of physical inactivity and eating the wrong foods or even following a diet that does not fit the individual needs of the person will contribute to either an Obesity issue or even with an extreme weight loss situation. Both can be unhealthy. The ideal situation is to maintain a balanced weight profile that contributes to the person being and functioning in an optimal manner. When you consider that the English Language consists of 36 symbols of which 10 are referred to as numbers and the other 26 are referred to as letters. Think of all of the books in...
Whenever we talk about these essential oils, minerals and a vast array of other “nutrient” related materials, we always have new questions. Asking questions is always a good thing. Many times these “asked” questions will spur on other questions that lead to new topics of discussion. This is a good thing. In the discussions that I lead, I try to simplify the ideas into comparative, usually comparative to what most people are familiar with. As a general rule, most people learn by comparing a new idea, concept, observation, etc., to what they already know. This is an effective way of understanding new things learned and what is more it tends to be retained more clearly and is much more easily and accurately assessed at a later date.
One of the things that I have been looking at is a lot of the “Nutrients” that are not usually talked about. For the most part these are either classified as trace minerals or with some, extremely trace minerals....
