So Fresh and Clean

Jun 24, 2017

How would you like to clean a freshen your entire home with just two simple products?

How would you like it if these products were super inexpensive to make and included two of the most useful essential oils you have on hand?

Cleaning your home isn’t the most glamorous job in the world, but is must be done. I’m a picky cleaner, but I also like to get it done as quickly as possible. I have two little ladies, 3 year old hazel and 1 ½ year old Evelyn. I also work part-time. The time that I allot for cleaning in minimal. I need to be able to sweep through my house as fast as I can with baby and helper girl in toe. If I tried to carry around a cleaning caddy, full of all the specialty cleaners for any possible need, I would be “dropping” them (being helped by my little duo) all along the way. Also, it gets heavy pretty fast. Keeping things simple is a must for me. I do all my general cleaning with two simple, homemade, products. I have a spray, and a powder. I started making and using these a couple years ago, and I tell you, I will never go back. And because they are made with natural and safe ingredients, I don’t have to worry about one of my little ladies getting hurt.

What are these amazing, back saving, time saving, money saving, miracle solutions you ask?

Would you too, like to sweep through your cleaning with ease, knowing that you are actually improving the health of your home and family with each spray and sprinkle?

First of all, gather your needed supplies:

  • 1 spray bottle (I used a recycled window cleaner bottle)
  • 1 sprinkle jar (A recycled parmesan cheese container works great)
  • baking soda
  • white vinegar
  • liquid dish soap, or castile soap
  • water
  • lemon essential oil
  • peppermint essential oil

The spray can be used on all surfaces, from windows to walls, toilets to tables. The powder can be used for freshening fabrics and carpets, and as a scouring agent for tubs, sinks, and inside of toilets. It is also great for those little accidents during potty training.

Both lemon and peppermint essential oils are well known for their antibacterial, anti fungal, and antimicrobial properties. “Misting or diffusing [lemon] cleanses the air, lifts the spirit, and helps with the ability to focus on the tasks at hand.”

Power Purpose Spray Cleaner

  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon liquid dish soap, or castile soap
  • 6 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 6 drops lemon essential oil (use up to 12 drops for greasy kitchen messes)

How to use:

Using a funnel, pour all of the ingredients into the spray bottle. Shake well. Spray on surface and wipe dry with a cloth. Shake well before each use.

Fresh and Clean Powder

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 6 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 6 drops lemon essential oil

How to use:

Put half of the baking soda in the jar, drop in the essential oils, add the remaining baking soda. Screw lid on tightly, shake jar vigorously to mix essential oils throughout the baking soda. For scrubbing and scouring, sprinkle on enough for the job and scrub with a scouring sponge or cloth. To freshen carpets and upholstery, sprinkle a light dusting over the entire area and allow it to sit for about an hour, vacuum as usual.

I know that you are going to love how quickly and easily you will be able to clean your home with these safe fresh cleaners.

Happy Cleaning!
